St. Patrick's Day DIY

Copyright Rock Paper Sisters

Last year, at about this time, we were asked to participate in the Art After Dark event at The Clay Center for the Arts and Sciences of West Virginia and we just knew we had to do a fun little St. Patrick’s Day craft. Nothing too over-the-top obviously because if you’ve ever been to the event you know that it is basically an opportunity to walk through the art gallery and see all the displays and then stop and do a small, free craft if you’d like. So we kept it really simple and painted shamrocks! So we thought it would be fun to add the smallest of twists to this for you guys and make those shamrocks into magnets for your fridge, for your kids to play with, etc. So here is everything that you’ll need to know to get started:

Supplies List:

Wooden Shamrocks (we actually love the set we’ve linked here even more because there are a variety of St. Patrick’s Day shapes you can choose from and use!)

Paint

Brushes

Magnets

Step One: Choose your wooden shape! Yep, that simple! And then start painting. You can make this fun for kids and add stickers, some markers, etc. The creative juices can really start flowing here. We saw all kinds of beautiful creations last year when we hosted this craft!

Step Two: Let is dry. This type of wood dries fairly fast, but make sure that it dries thoroughly before flipping it over.

Step Three: Add your magnet to the back and enjoy!
