We’ve had a lot of people ask us about Dubsado since doing our Instagram takeover earlier this month, so we wanted to tell you a little bit more about our favorite client management system. We will start by saying that we don’t get paid by Dubsado to say these things, we don’t work for them, and we don’t get any kind of kick back. We truly just love the product. We were asked recently how we linked up with Dubsado to do the Instagram takeover, and honestly, we couldn’t remember? We had seen a post by their social media manager, Alexander about doing some webinars. Knowing that we wanted to share our love of Dubsado we asked how we could help but weren’t quite ready to dive into a webinar scenario (you should see the outtakes from Instagram, we weren’t ready for the LIVE stage, haha!) so we worked out the idea of doing Instagram, which also happens to be our favorite social media platform, so it was a match made in Heaven.
Anyways, we’ve never worked in any other CRM before. So when friendors ask, “Why Dubsado over X, Y, or Z?”, we don’t really have the best answer. We had done a free trial of another popular CRM and it just never clicked for us. The interface was clunky, the set up was challenging and others that we knew that were using it were constantly struggling to find the best groove within it. When our trial ran out, we just knew it wasn’t the best fit for us. So continuing on the journey of behind-the-scenes stress (it was an organized mess. Contracts that had to be emailed, printed, signed, scanned…I mean, if you’re not using a CRM, you know the drill) hoping that one day we’d find a fit. And then there it was, staring at me through a random Instagram post, this turquoise blue logo with a word I couldn’t pronounce (it’s Dubs•ah•do, by the way with a cool story about how it was created – we’ll link at the end) and I knew I had to learn more. After going down a rabbit hole of searching, because that’s how I always stumble upon the best things, I found webinar tutorials, a Facebook community managed and maintained by the OWNERS of the company that were answering questions, and countless other creatives that were all finding success with this platform, so I signed up for the trial. If you’re even considering how Dubsado could work for you, we recommend the trial. With the opportunity to keep a free trial until you’ve added three jobs, you’re time spent playing around in there can be endless. For us, it was two days before we were signed, sealed and delivered. And we’ll tell you a few reasons why:
The interface is clean: As visual creatives, we love white space, and this platform offers that. It’s easy to follow, things are easy to see, and everything is exactly where we felt like it should be.
The branding is ours: Dubsado truly allows the creative to make it their own. Our logo is on everything, emails come from us, even our branding colors of green and grey are incorporated. Aside from a small Dubsado logo in the corner, you truly feel like you’re working in your own little corner of the world, creating the most amazing brand image for your clients to see.
You can be flexible: if you get the chance to look through the webinars and other resources that Dubsado provides, you’ll find that there are a million (ok maybe not really a million) ways to make the form templates your own. There is a basic place to include your contract for easy signing and then there are multiple form templates that you can use to create proposals, quotes, proof forms, look books, and more. The resources are there, just use your vision to make it happen!
Things are growing: Almost weekly, Dubsado unrolls a new feature. Think calendar syncing, Mailchimp integration, delayed email sending, Quickbooks functions. We’ll include a list at the end of all the things to come, but the beauty of this company is they listen, and they immediately start working to make things happen that work for the common good of the Dubsado community.

- Taxes – All of our invoicing goes through Dubsado, which keeps a running total of exactly how much sales tax we have to submit at the end of the year. Can you say, AH•MAZING!
- Organized information in one place – proofs, client emails, contracts, everything!
- Signed contracts – electronic signatures hold just as much weight as the real thing. Dubsado has an integrated signature system that allows for immediate contract completion.
